Catherine Bogovich papers and photographs, 1942-2009 [manuscript]

The documents are contained in one archival box and arranged by date. The folders are all Catherine Bogovich personal memorabilia from her time served with the WAC. The first five folders all contain photographs, news clippings, some photocopies of the photographs and news clippings, as well as letters, tickets, postcards, leaflets from her camps, and some official Army documents. The last two folders contain photographs of one of Catherines nieces, Catherine in a parade, and two memoirs written by Catherine herself after the donation of the materials to the Heinz History Center. The folders and materials within are generally arranged by date and place. There are numerous photographs of Catherine and the friends she made at Ft. Des Moines, Iowa, Ft. Brady, Michigan, and Drew Field, Tampa, Florida.

The Women's Army Corps (WAC) was the women's branch of the US Army. It was created as an auxiliary unit, the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1942, and converted to full status as the WAC in 1943.
